Tim Berners Lee

"The Web as I envisaged it, we have not seen it yet. The future is still so much bigger than the past"

This week's quote is by the eminent English computer scientist, who is best known as the inventor of World Wide Web - Tim Berners Lee

In a seminar discussing the future of www, Tim explained how internet has dramatically changed the lives of everyone around the world, but its full impact will only be realised when far more people and information go on-line - and that is something that happens everyday and will keep happening more and more.

As the mobile internet usage is skyrocketing especially in developing nations, it is no longer necessary to use a computer to surf the web. During the seminar, the VP of Google said, "We will have more Internet, larger numbers of users, more mobile access, more speed, more things online and more appliances we can control over the Internet"

Robert Cailliau, who designed the web in collaboration with Tim in 1989, explained that having more data on the Internet, in addition to more people having the ability to access it, will induce the development of new technology and solutions to global problems. He said, "When we have all data online it will be great for humanity. It is a prerequisite to solving many problems that humankind faces."

The Web was was initially available more widely in 1991. The number of websites in 1994 was 500, and it has increased rapidly to over 80 million currently, and is still increasing exponentially everyday, with user-generated content.

At DDSN, we know the best is yet to come. We started developing websites just at the beginning of websites gaining popularity in 1997. Since then, we have invested a lot into R&D to usability of design and development of digital platforms, websites, and apps to be able to create digital solutions across all aspects for our clients.

We understand the importance of going digital in this fast pacing world, and that is why we keep anticipating future trends, to develop technology and help our clients stay ahead of times.
