A highly personalised collection of e-cessation tools and resources for quitting smokers.

The Challenge

Build a web based framework to help people quit smoking, guiding them through every stage of the process - preparing, quitting, and staying quit.

The MyQuit tool aims to be a companion to the quitting smoker, being a mentor and supporter through the entire journey and providing immediate support at each new challenge.

The Solution

After extensive briefings by Cancer Council Victoria subject matter experts about the needs of quitting smokers, DDSN led a design-focussed series of prototyping and usability workshops to turn Cancer Council Victoria’s exhaustive evidence-based research about smoking cessation into a series of online tools to help smokers who want to quit - prepare, quit, and stay quit.

The QuitCoach

The project included direct integration with the QuitCoach - a powerful online tool that asks a barrage of behavioural questions and then provides a personalised guide to quitting and becoming a long term nonsmoker. A brand new personalisation technology was created for the cm3 Acora CMS platform to allow content authors to provide fine-grained communications to authenticated website visitors without complex programming, from directly inside the CMS content editing environment.

A Personal Experience

MyQuit will speak to you differently if you’re a young female with an active lifestyle who smokes irregularly; or a mid thirties married man with two kids who smokes heavily, offering you a highly personalised journey no matter what.

Since MyQuit’s first launch, the tracking and personalisation tools have been incorporated directly into the quit.org.au website to reach a wider audience.

They have also become a core part of the cm3 Acora CMS platform, making the deep personalisation technology developed for the MyQuit project available to all DDSN customers.

Other Cancer Council Projects

The cm3 Acora CMS platform and DDSN's design, consultancy, and hosting services have underpinned many other Cancer Council Victoria projects over many years. Nationally recognised health campaign brands Sunsmart, Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, Daffodil Day, Relay for Life, Girls' Night In, the Cancer Council Shop and The McCabe Centre are just a few of many sites built on cm3 over a long period of time.
