"The world is one big data problem"
This week's quote is by the eminent cofounder and codirector of the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy - Dr. Andrew McAfee
We agree with Dr. Andrew that the world is one big data problem. We are all living in a world where the data industry has become one of the most powerful and data tools the means to develop the enterprises.
His research investigates how IT changes the way companies perform, organize themselves and compete. At a higher level, he also continuously explores how computerization affects competition, society, the economy and the workforce.
With the drastic growth of data inflow, new tools emerge everday, to make optimum use of raw data to be able to analyse and use it fruitfully.
Data Science covers all such tools, techniques and technologies which help us handle data and use it for our good.
Just like Dr. Andrews, we have been continuously studying about changing digital technologies too.
We have been at the crux of digital transformation and have been working continuously since then to adapt, create and explore - so that we support our partners in their digital journey and help them leverage the latest technology to advance in their core functionalities.
Who is Andrew McAfee?
Dr. Andrew Paul McAfee is a principal research scientist at MIT and a writer. He studies how digital technologies are changing the world.
Andrew completed his doctorate in 1999 from Harvard Business School, with a thesis titled The impact of enterprise information systems on operational effectiveness: An empirical investigation.
In 2008, the editors of the technical publishing house Ziff-Davis named Dr McAfee number 38 in their list of the “100 Most Influential People in IT”.
He was also named by Baseline magazine to a separate, unranked list of the 50 most influential people in business IT that year.
In 2009, he was the only non-executive in the Everything Channel's group of the 100 most influential executives in the technology industry.
Last but not the least, he was also awarded the top prize in the Digital Thinkers category at the Thinkers 50 Gala on November 9, 2015 along with Erik Brynjolfsson.
At DDSN we look at the world through a digital lens and try to solve one problem at a time for our partners with the help of our amazing team.
