"That confluence of cool tech and enormous opportunity to use that tech to change the world is leading to the emergence of cloud computing."

This week's quote is by the Executive Vice President of the Cloud and AI group in Microsoft. - Scott Guthrie

Scott is in charge of Microsoft’s cloud computing fabric, artificial intelligence platform, and the company’s digital transformation strategy. This includes products and services such as Microsoft Azure, the global cloud computing platform, Microsoft Business Applications, including the automated business process capabilities of Dynamics 365, low-code/no-code tools in the Power Platform, and their healthcare-specific data platforms and AI products and services, and Mixed Reality, with HoloLens and Microsoft Mesh.

Since joining the company in 1997, Scott has made important contributions to many of Microsoft’s essential cloud, server and development technologies, and was one of the founders of the .NET project.

Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella had delegated the responsibility of growing Microsoft's cloud service Azure to Scott Guthrie and compete with the giant AWS. Scott succeeded in making that happen and grew Azure by 62% since then. Forbes has called Guthrie arguably the second-most-powerful executive at Microsoft after Nadella.

“I don’t think there’s going to be a physical device in the world that, five or 10 years down the road, will not have an IP address and will not be in some way cloud-connected,” said Scott Guthrie, executive vice president for the tech giant’s cloud and AI groups.

With the fast pace of digital space, the cloud lets all the businesses scale up rapidly using less infrastructure. Everything is going digital right now and the ability to link physical and digital processes accelerates the amount of data you can collect and analyse. Due to this change, all of the businesses are reinventing their business processes in all areas of finance, logistics, manufacturing, retail, and more.

Scott mentioned in an interview, “COVID-19 has made it very clear that digital tech intensity is key to business resilience."

The only constant in this ever-changing tech field is change. We have seen businesses adapt and come on board to accelerate the digitization of their business over the years. Especially now, after the Covid-19 pandemic, the importance of digitization has sky-rocketed.

At DDSN we are focused on enabling customers to respond to all these challenges by helping them build new digital presences and deploy new digital solutions. This is being done to transform their businesses by making them digitally capable in all areas of operation. In a market with expensive integration projects, we proudly deliver all-in-one digital solutions that work and help businesses stay in the game.
