All sorts of things can happen when you’re open to new ideas and playing around with things.

In honour of National Science Week, our first quote comes from the inventor of Kevlar, Stephanie Kwolek.

At DDSN, even though we have been in business in Melbourne for more than 23 years, we never stand still. Continuously improving our products, implementation and hosting environment for our clients.

We also have a PhD Chemist and PhD Physicist on staff... so hypothesis, test, improve, repeat, Release! ... happens every day in our now distributed office.

Quote "All sorts of things can happen when you’re open to new ideas and playing around with things." - Stephanie Kwolek

Who was Stephanie Kwolek?

Stephanie Kwolek was best known for her key role in the invention of Kevlar. An American of Polish decent she worked for Dupont for more than 40 years.

The discovery story is interesting and familiar to scientists everwhere who have ideas and just try them out.

The solution would normally be thrown away but Kwolek persuaded technician Charles Smullen, who ran the spinneret, to test her solution and kevlar was spun, 5 times as strong as steel.

At DDSN we challenge you, just as Stephanie Kwolek did... Be open to new ideas and play around with things!
